    Weaving with Open Studio

    taught by Nancy Sharples

    For the beginner or experienced weaver, this class will allow each student to work independently on their own project on a 4 or 8 harness floor loom.  Beginners will learn to warp a loom and either create a sampler of different weave structures or make a scarf, table runner, towel, or other small project.

    More advanced students can choose to learn tapestry techniques, rug weaving, double weave, overshot or a challenging new weaving technique.

    The weaving studio will be open for extra weaving time daily. Door security access will be given to students prior to the starting of class.

    Please bring a good pair of scissors with you to class.

    6 session class, Tuesdays starting January 13-February 24, 2026 (No class February 2) from 1:00-3:00PM

    Saratoga Arts' Kids Art Program uses the best parts of Choice-Based/TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) art making and focuses the program on what your kids are most interested in creating. They are able to have fun experimenting with various materials and techniques to create art inspired by their ideas, life experiences and passions. It's their choice of subject, materials, timeframe and workflow while teachers assist and encourage through the whole creative process.

    Kids are invited to explore 2D art (drawing, painting, collage, printmaking), 3D art (mixed media, sculpture, clay, fiber arts), and digital art (photography, digital drawing, animation on personal devices).

    All materials and tools will be provided for the camp including a sketchbook and portfolio to take home.

They are able to have fun experimenting with various materials and techniques to create art inspired by their ideas, life experiences and passions. It's their choice of subject, materials, timeframe and workflow while teachers assist and encourage through the whole creative process.

    Kids are invited to explore 2D art (drawing, painting, collage, printmaking), 3D art (mixed media, sculpture, clay, fiber arts), and digital art (photography, digital drawing, animation on personal devices).

    All materials and tools will be provided for the camp including a sketchbook and portfolio to take home.
